03/12/2009 - Battle of the bands FINAL! Saturday 12th December! The bands battling it out on the night will be Downslide, Tiananmen, Keelix, Cause of Denial and Uberstande! Anyone is welcome to come down and show their support! Only £3 entry for five awsum bands!!

25/09/2009 - Hey Everyone! Here's an update on the Battle Of The Bands 2009! Thursday 1st of October next week will be the last heat in the first round of the Battle of the Bands 2009! Performing on the night for a place in the semi final are: Xentrique + Henrys Carpet Skip + Art's Got A Gun + Columbine School Massacre + Bullets and numbers. Only two bands will make it through to the semi final! The dates for the semi final have been chosen and listed on our site. The Bands for first heat of the semi final have been confirmed, and the remaining heat will be up shortly. Here is a list of the bands who are through to the Semi Final: Red Mist Rising Through Her Eyes The RDA Cause of Denial Tiananmen Uberstande Keelix Important Looking Pirates Hitomi Smoke the city Volume Zero Downslide A Last Concern The Venkman Hiest See you all this Thursday - 1st October for the final heat of the first round!!

14/08/2009 - Hey People! Just a quick update on the "Battle of the Bands"..... The results of heats one and two are are as follows..... "Red Mist Rising" and "Through Her Eyes" won the first heat and are through to the next round! "Cause of Denial" and "The RDA" won the second heat and are through to the next round! Heat 3 is on Saturday the 22nd August. Battleing it out for a place in the next round will be "Uberstande", "Tiananmen", "Redback" and "Retention Method"

04/08/2009 - The Mexborough Civic Battle of the Bands starts this thursday 6th August!! Fighting for a place in the next round will be "After the Fall", "Tea and Biscuits", "Through Her Eyes" and "Red Mist Rising" £2 entry - 7:00 doors See you there!

27/04/2009 - FLIP & FILL LIVE AT THE CIVIC SATURDAY 13TH JUNE!! Flip & Fill are a Manchester, England based dance act, consisting of prolific Mancunian producers/remixers, DJs Graham Turner and Mark Hall. They are signed to the All Around The World (record label) record label. Having released tracks since 1999, they reached #34 in the UK Singles Chart in March 2001 with "True Love Never Dies", a mash-up of "Airwave" by Rank 1 and Donna Williams's True Love Never Dies, with re-recorded vocals by Kelly Llorenna. On a second release, it reached #7 in February 2002, which was higher than Airwave itself had climbed in the UK charts. The track had previously circulated as a mash-up of "Kylie Minogue vs. Airwave", but actually Kylie is not the one who sings this song at all. In addition to Kelly Llorenna, Karen Parry has also provided vocals for the act, including on their 2002 #3 hit, Shooting Star. Jo James is another singer who provided vocals for their releases "Field Of Dreams" and a remix of the Whitney Houston classic "I Wanna Dance With Somebody". They have also produced a remix of Ayumi Hamasaki's song "July 1st" which peaked at #3 on Japan's Oricon album chart. Current Flip 'N' Fill are touring the UK Club scene, remixing and re-editing more famous classics, Including N-Trance - Set You Free, which was released in 2003 and redone in 2006, It reached #7 in 2003 and #2 in 2006, both versions are available on 12' Vinyl
